Biography:

Coach Steve Pettit is entering his second season coaching varsity girls soccer at Oyster River High School, and his ninth season coaching soccer overall.  During the offseason from the demands of high school soccer, Coach Pettit continues to coach, but does so as a volunteer for the Oyster River Youth Association.

Coach Pettit says that "spending time with amazing student athletes, sharing the game that I love" is the best part about being involved with Oyster River.

In his free time, Coach Pettit enjoys raising his two girls, Lilia and Maya.

Derek Cangello returns to Oyster River for his second season as the JV girls soccer coach.  He is in his ninth year teaching and his sixth season coaching at OR.  This year marks  his 17th season coaching overall. 

He has coached a variety of other sports at the high school level, such as basketball, softball, and tennis.  

Coach Cangello had this to say about coaching at Oyster River:  The "best thing about coaching at OR is the players.  As a teacher it is great to get to know them outside of the classroom and it's equally as great for them to see me in a different environment."  

When he has free time, Coach Cangello enjoys spending time with his son, Lysander, playing golf, attending live music shows, going out to eat, hanging out with his friends, and camping.
