Biography:

Coach Mark Smallwood is entering his fifteenth year as the head coach for the varsity field hockey team.  Prior to coming to OR, Coach Smallwood was the field hockey coach at Dover Middle School for three years.  He was instrumental in starting the Seacoast United field hockey program and for twelve years he coached the U16 and U19 teams, winning several national pools.  Coach Smallwood has also coached track at Dover High School both as the head coach and as an assistant.

He has said that "the best part of coaching at OR is getting to play a part in developing a team that works together learning how to compete and commit to improving both individually and as a teammate."

Outside of coaching, Coach Smallwood is employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a high voltage electrician.  When not working he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren, ages 4, 2 and 1.
